President Buhari Attends First FEC Meeting Since London Return
President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over his first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting since he returned from his 103-day medical vacation in London.
This was revealed by the president's Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on his Twitter account, (@BashirAhmaad).
He tweeted, "President Buhari is currently presiding over this week's FEC Meeting, received the victorious D’Tigress at the beginning of the meeting."
At the commencement of Wednesday's meeting, the president welcomed members of Nigeria's victorious women's basketball team, D'Tigress, to the Executive Council Chamber, awarding each member N1 million each, according to his Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media, Lauretta Onochie.
The cancellation added more fuel to concerns about his health after he resisted pressure to disclose the details of his illness.
Despite the cancellation, the 74-year-old president has appeared during meetings that have taken place at the Presidential Villa where he has been working out of his home office.
Last week, he met with leaders of the ruling party, the All Progressives' Congress (APC) and main opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and later hosted state governors from across the country.
He has also met with an investigative panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as well as the country's security council, and economic team.
Congrats President
