Crime: Murder Of Gulder Search Winner Arrested
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the alleged mastermind in the murder of former winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search, Hector Jobarteh who was murdered at his residence on Olufowora Close, New Oko Oba, Agege.
In a press release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO], ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, the 49-year-old suspect, Ismaila Adeyemi, was arrested at his hideout at Gas Line, Ominiyi in the Ijoko area of Ogun State, after an intensive manhunt mounted by the force.
According to ASP Famous-Cole, the suspect who has confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, said he masterminded the murder of the 2017 winner of the Ultimate Search on Saturday, September 2, 2017, after he was trailed to his house from the local terminal of the Murtala Muhammad Airport where he had gone to pick up his younger brother.
"The Lagos State Police Command, after weeks of intensive manhunt, wishes to announce to the general public the arrest of one Ismaila Adeyemi, 'm', aged 49-years-old, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobarteh (the 2007 winner of Gulder Ultimate Search) who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in Agege area of Lagos State.
The suspect who was arrested at Gas Line, Ominiyi in Ijoko area of Ogun State, confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, while other members of his gang have been arrested.
The suspects will be charged to court after investigation is concluded.
The command wishes to reinstate its commitment in partnership with members of the public and urge them to always come forward with useful information that would assist the police in discharging their duties.
