Osinbajo Visits Displaced Victims In Benue
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has arrived in Benue state to commiserate with victims that have been displaced by the recent flood crisis in the state.
This was revealed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, on his Twitter account (@akandeoj)on Wednesday, September 6.
He tweeted, "VP Osinbajo now in Benue State with a message from Mr. President to the people: we are with you all the way."
The state government opened the Makurdi International Market as a relief camp for displaced victims to seek shelter, and according to camp manager, James Iorhuna, 4,775 people had registered in the camp as at Tuesday, September 5.
According to an estimation by Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), a staggering 110,000 people across 24 communities in Makurdi and environs have been affected by the flood.
