Carrie Underwood Appears Online Unleashes New Photo Online

Carrie Underwood suffered multiple injuries after falling down the stairs at her home and her recovery has caused her to look a bit different than before.

In November the country singer took a fall that landed her in the hospital.

Initially, Underwood said she broke her wrist and needed surgery on it, but more recent reports have uncovered that she had more than just an injured wrist.

“There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” Underwood wrote in a note obtained by PEOPLE. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well."

The CMA host wrote that she needed 40-50 stitches on her face and it has altered her look a little.

“I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40-50 stitches in,” she wrote to a fan club page, referring to her hubby Mike Fisher, who she married in 2010. “Now here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I’ve had the best people helping me, I’m still healing and not looking quite the same.”

She emphasizes that she may not look exactly how she did before, but Below Deck alum Adrienne Gang said she didn't even notice when she ran into Underwood mid-December. Gang tweeted the first photo taken of Underwood since the accident, saying she wasn't aware the singer was injured.
